Teri Gross’ interview with Ice Cube could, quite possibly, be one of the most bizzarre, surreal things I’ve ever heard.
Do yourself a favor and click the “Listen” link on that page. It’s worth it, if only to hear Ms. Gross ask “Cube” (as she calls him. Don’t giggle just yet) about his hit single “Straigh. Outta. Comp. Ton.” that he performed with NWA, or “Niggas. With. Attitudes.”.
And then she plays the song. I almost had to pull over from the thought of her sitting in her normally serene studio being bombarded with all variants of “motherf*&$ing” this and “f#$%ing” that.
