A Mild Electoral Spanking

Looks like Limbaugh (and yours truly) were a bit quick in making judgements in re: yesterday’s UK elections. Blair’s New Labour party ended up retaining its majority, albeit a significantly reduced one. Blair’s successor is waiting in the wings and many Brit observers have Blair leaving the PM post by the end of the year.

Well we saw this last November if I recall.
As I’m amused by economics and markets and whatnot, I followed the political futures markets for the Presidential election. Despite the polls, bush held the lead for months until the first exit polls were posted. At that point you could have bought a $1 Bush victory share for $0.01. You can be sure I’ll have a close eye on things in ’08. Perhaps even in the upcoming ’06 senatorial elections.
