I'm Ridiculously Excited About This Game
Seriously, folks, an 8 bit game in today's heated video game climate? And a Mega Man one, at that? I am so stoked.
Notice!
Remember, folks: Burn Notice's new season starts tonight at 10pm. Tonight. Burn Notice.
Oh, and Bourne Identity is on in the meantime.
UPDATE: It's entirely obvious to me that the Bourne movies wouldn't be half as good were it not for their soundtracks. The amount of tension they manage to build in is striking.
Kudos For Praized
Yes, I avoided the "praise for Praized" pun. My buddy Stephane (he of fellow WPhone fame) and his workmates have gone live with their social app, Praized. Think of it as a Web 2.0-ish Angie's List, with local business/hotspot search and reviews ("Praize"/"Raze", depending upon your level of Customer Support Mojo™). They've got Movable Type and WordPress plugins ready to download and they've got a Facebook app too.
So once again, congrats guys! Here's to wishing you success!
Further Reader Minivan Bleg
You guys were great the last go-round, so I figured I'd solicit further advice.
Here's the situation: We're looking at an '06 Honda Odyssey. Y'all (and others) were convincing in your arguments and I've decided that loyalty to ancestors is great, but when it makes you neglect your current family, it needs to be gently placed aside.
So we're looking into this particular Odyssey (side note: I absolutely hate typing that word. Henceforth, it shall be The Honda) and the dealer's website offers a free Carfax for all used vehicles. I clicked through and noted that The Honda has had only one owner, 22k miles and is listed as in good repair. It also notes that in July '07, it was in an accident in which front and side airbags were deployed. It's a Honda Certified vehicle, which should count for something, but now I'm very disinclined to pursue it, as driving a formerly-crashed vehicle just doesn't seem wise to me.
So, what say you? Is it okay to pursue a car that's been in more than a simple fender-bender? Or should I stop now and look elsewhere?
Blasto Is Bleepin' Brilliant
I cannot describe the utter joy Captain Blasto embodies to me. Art style, music, concept — it's brilliant.
I could describe the premise, or I could simply let the official trailer tell the story:
(Okay, short short version: ordinary guy wants a bit of heroism in his life, so he and a band of misfits he recruits stage "crimes" wherein ordinary guy, dressed as Captain Blasto, intervenes and saves the day.)
They're up to episode 4, but you really ought to go back and watch from the beginning. Awesome.
(By way of ExtraLife.)
Wii's Back — Wheeee!
That's right, the Wii arrived back, safe and sound. Turns out my "main circuit board" needed replacing. I'm unsure as to what was specifically wrong, but the solution was really the best I could have hoped for. All my Miis and saved games were preserved, which is excellent.
The only downside is that UPS had my console in Horsham as of last Saturday but "kindly" refused to deliver it until yesterday. Ahh well. See you jive turkeys on Mario Kart!
