Political Intimidation, Follow-up

In a follow-up to yesterday’s post, there are further accounts of acts of anti-Bush/anti-GOP violence and disturbances. The Kerry Spot, BlogFonte and Professor Bainbridge all have compilations of the goings-on. The additional stories include:

• Anti-Bush protestor attacks GOP committee chairman in Gainesville
• In Miami, more than 100 union protesters stormed the Bush-Cheney campaign office and pushed volunteers inside
• In Tampa, about three dozen protesters crowded into the second-floor office of the local Bush-Cheney headquarters where three elderly volunteers, two interns and a campaign staffer were working at the time
• Duluth teens vandalize Bush yard signs
• Destruction of Bush signs via fire and bayonets(!) in Maryland

It’s been said by others, but this is just ridiculous. Those responsible for these heinous acts should be caught and swiftly prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. There are plenty of ways for those of a leftward persuasion to get their message out, but rank intimidation and blatantly illegal acts are not among them.
And Al Gore had the temerity to label my side of the political spectrum as “digital brownshirts”! What does he have to say about these meatspace junior Gestapo tactics?
