Oh Please….

As a long-time Mel Brooks fan, I have always been bothered by the lack of a single obtainable version of Blazing Saddles that includes all material made for the film. If you’ve ever 1) watched the VHS or DVD version and then 2) watched the edited-for-TV version, you will note vast discrepancies between the two. There are a few additional scenes that made it into the TV version (particularly the extra Road Runner-esque scenes with Sherriff Bart and Mongo) that aren’t on the video store ones.
That’s why this gives me great hope. Note:

Features

  • “Black Bart” 1975 TV Pilot that inspired the film
  • “Intimate Protrait: Madeline Kahn Remembers”
  • Additional scenes
  • Cast/Crew Reunion documentary
  • Scene-specific commentary by director/co-writer Mel Brooks
  • Widescreen Presentation

It’s almost too good to be true.
