I went in for my follow-up dental exam/cleaning today. At issue was whether I was going to need a root canal. Alas, th’ answer ’twas “yes”.
All in all, I would have to say that the experience was nowhere near as bad as I had come to expect. Of course, they did pump me full with a massive amount of novacaine, so much so that my libbup has only recently stopped feeling as though it was in my labbup. The smell of the smoke that emitted from my mouth was rather disconcerting, though, and the “irrigation” solution that was applied smelled suspiciously of public pool-grade chlorine. Good thing Cl isn’t poisonous to the human body, or I would be in some serious trouble. *grin*
By all accounts, though, the procedure went well. I must return in a couple of weeks in order for them to put a permanent filling/cap in/on the tooth.
Remember kids: always floss, and pay special attention to your molars. You’ll thank yourselves later.

Nice Cosby reference.
I don’t think it’s possible to have been born between 1950 and 1990 and not immediately think of Bill Cosby when the subject of dental work comes up.
Heh.
