Weekend Blahs

Yesterday and today have been a bit, well, uneventful. My wife and I spent most of our day yesterday over at my parents’ house, enjoying food, family and a rousing game of “Scattergories”. A good time was had by all.
Today was church, then lunch with a couple from church, then home for chores and naps.
*sigh*

  1. I can remember a time when I would have given almost anything to have a weekend like you just had. Just to be able to go to my in-laws’ or even my own parents’ house for a nice dinner and an evening of fellowship would have done wonders for my first marriage.
Forutnatly it is not that way in my current marriage. I truly have been blessed with a marraige in which these weekend “blahs” in some way brings a sense of contentment. That is not to say that I am never bored on the weekends, but I would rather be bored with people that want to be around me than bored because noone wants me around.
Yes, sir. I believe that sometimes the “Blahs” are a blessing we’ve just gotten used to.

  2. You are 100% correct. My wife chastised me thoroughly for titling it “Blahs” and she was correct. I do indeed have it very, very good.
There’s some exciting news, too, but that’ll have to wait for another day.
