The ‘Hogs Were Out Today

I’ve always had a keen interest in military aviation and so living near an air base has provided many a clapping-my-hands-in-glee-inside-my-head moments. Today provided just such an occasion.
On our way back from church, my wife and I saw not one, but two A-10 Thunderbolt II “Warthogs” come in for a landing at Willow Grove NAS/JRB. I’ve see ‘Hogs at air shows before, but never with gear down and certainly never landing. I just about pulled the car off the road to watch. Then my “grown-up” side took over and made me 1) pay attention to driving again, as that had been lacking for about 15-20 seconds and 2) press on towards home.
Dang, those were pretty birds.
