Good News, Everyone!

I have an exciting announcement to make:
As Brad already alluded to, my wife and I are expecting our first child this October. We are extremely excited (so much so that some of us have been known to throw up occasionally, what with all the excitement and everything).
I will publish updates as they become available, pertinent and not too personal, thankyouverymuch. We would really cherish your prayers over the next few months.

Congrats! And you can bet I’ll be praying for a safe and healthy pregnancy and delivery.
God Bless both of you!

Libra is far more likely. I do believe my wife will pop if she’s 3 weeks overdue (October 6th is the tentative due date).

Cool…right around my birthday.
Off topic – My gravatar isn’t showing up here. And yes,..I have one with this mangled e-mail. The Gravatar guy was nice enough to set it up for me.

Hmmmm. I’ll look into it. I have my Gravatar plugin caching ‘tars and I don’t see an entry for you. Very odd.

Any idea why Gravatar.com would be having issues with your email address? What special considerations did the Gravatar guys have to give you to get it to work?
By the way, I’m using Skippy’s Gravatar plugin. I don’t know what plugin Rob is using to make yours show up.
I thought maybe it was due to a ratings issue, so I bumped the rating down to ‘R’ (was ‘PG’) in my settings. No dice.

Here we go. Whatever email address you’re using over at Rob’s place has the following md5 hash:
07afb1cd61825320c46ce0e9a93ad07a

However, here your email hashes out to:
bd2258544a7cb15ef9f58010b95c337c
Obviously, not the same thing. There doesn’t appear to be any Gravatar associated with that hash and there’s no way to reverse-lookup what eactly is going on (the advantage and peril of MD5).

It must be something to do with the Gravatar service itself then Doug. My hash for this e-mail should be c28d751381566a1b3eb083727df55c60. I just checked it out, signed in at the website, and everything checked out. I use a different e-mail on Rob’s site.
And to answer your question of, “What special considerations did the Gravatar guys have to give you to get it to work?”. They let me use a munged e-mail. I put a [takeout] tag in the middle of it to avoid the spam catchers. The guy personally e-mailed me at the address to make sure it was me. Normally you have to respond to the e-mail sent to the address, but since I’m using that munged address, no e-mail could be sent to it. It was something he did that took up his free time so I appreciated it.
And for the rating – it’s just a pic of my mug. Same as on Rob’s blog.
