Shameful Lefty Moral Equivalency Of The Week

From a letter to the editor of the San Francisco Chronicle in re: an SFC story about Hamas summer “camp” designed to further indoctrinate Palestinian children with an ideology of hate:

Editor — Yes, it is disturbing that Palestinian children are being taught to chant “Rifle fire! Raise it up!” in Hamas dummer camps.
But, hey, we’ve got militaristic chants going in this country for our kiddies, too. On Sunday, President Bush met with the Boy Scouts, a gathering of 50,000, at their National Jamboree at an Army base in Virginia. Among other things, he went on about patriotism and military service.
Bush’s audience had been warmed up by a man wearing an Army T-shirt who, as balloons with military emblems floated about, led the children in chants of “OO-rah” and “U.S.A.!”
Looks like we’ve got some of our own sun, fun and indoctrination.

Oh. My. Goodness. Ms. Ross’ blatherings share the page with similar idiocy about how Israel is actually “indoctrinating” Palestinian children via “oppression” and inane wonderings about just what it would take to get Hamasniks to sit down and strum out the strains of “Kumbaya” instead of making bombs, but Ms. Ross is the only moronreader dumb enough to compare Hamas with the bleedin’ Boy Scouts.
Let’s put this in the simplest terms so that we don’t lose the other Judi Rosses out there – a nice compare-and-contrast chart:

Boy Scouts of America Hamas
Taught to solve problems collaboratively Routinely execute suspected “collaborators”
Help old ladies across the street Murder old ladies at border crossings
Pursue merit badges Pursue martyr badges
Motto: “Be prepared.” Motto: “Death to Israel.”
Slogan: “Do a Good Turn Daily.” Slogan: “From the River to the Sea,
Palestine will be Free [of Jews -ed.].”
“Three Finger” Salute “Don’t-Call-It-A-Sieg-Heil” Salute
Model rocketry Qassam rockets
No homosexual Scoutmasters No homosexuals, period
.22’s AK-47’s
Scout Law Law of the streets

Yup, they’re pretty much equivalent.
