On our way home today, my wife and I happened to see several handmade signs advertising a house, For Sale By Owner, with a unique twist: instead of pointing to some FSBO website, the signs advertised a domain name that (we are assuming) was the house’s actual street address appended with a ‘.com’. That’s brilliant! Not only are the domain names unlikely to be squatted, but you are almost guaranteed to be able to grab your house’s address with very little trouble. If you can’t get simply your street address, address + city is probably available, or + state, etc.
I don’t know if anyone else has seen anything similar in their areas, but I thought the simple yet profound idea behind the sign to be strangely compelling. Somebody (or -bodies) out there is/are thinking with their head[s].
