A Recipe For Success

Step 1: Choose a tool completely inappropriate for the task at hand, such as a Wiki for editorial content.
Step 2: Be sure to misunderstand the way in which your chosen technology works and then blame the tool when your experiment fails.
Step 3: Also, blame Slashdot for your obvious misunderstanding of how the Internet[s] work and the fact that your ill-conceived experiment “failed”.
Step 4: ???
Step 5: Profit!
Jeff Jarvis is suitably unimpressed with the LA Times’ efforts and hopes that their ham-fisted handling of the situation doesn’t scare other big media outlets away from similar experiments. Also, he compares the situation to Kathy Lee Gifford trying her hand at hip-hop. Go figure.
