Funny, My Wife And I Were Just Talking About This

Apparently, since the Seattle Seahawks have been so miserable for so long, the administration of Texas A&M has remained ignorant of the Seahawks’ “12th Man” tradition, at least until this past week’s contest between Seattle and Carolina. Well, apparently the Aggies are miffed and are suing the ‘Hawks for trademark infringement. Since they initiated the tradition in 1922 [Hi, honey! You were right. -ed.], they feel entitled to the continued exclusive use of the term in a sporting context.
Only problem with that is that Seattle’s “12th man” tradition goes back until at latest 1984. The Aggies’ trademark? 1989. Methinks the Aggies will lose this one.
